Precision Automation for the Life Sciences Industry
With more than 13 years of experience building automated machines to assemble parts for medical devices, we understand the importance of getting things exactly right.
No matter how quickly you need to produce parts or how many regulations you need to follow, our knowledgeable engineering team can help you design a reliable system that will improve your production efficiency, without sacrificing regulatory compliance.
Designed for Accuracy & Compliance
For more than decade, we’ve been refining our machine development process to ensure we’re delivering a system that meets every customer need.
From concept through production, we’ll work together to define exactly what your machine needs to do, the materials you’d like to use and the requirements you need to meet. Here are a few of the ways we do that:
Digital Prototyping
We use 3D simulation and modeling to verify our processes prior to deployment.
Real-Time VALIDATION
Our advanced software and testing capabilities offer real-time insights throughout production. They’re also backed up and stored for future reference.
Inline Inspection Systems
Feel confident your product is defect free, every time, with our integrated inspection systems. They automatically deviate any part that doesn’t meet every single one of your requirements.
Regulatory-Ready Design
Our systems are specifically developed to meet the latest GMP and FDA requirements.
Scalable Automation Platforms
As your needs evolve, we’re here to help you update your systems to meet new regulations and productions demands.
Production Optimization
Reveal inefficiencies and improve your yield with our data-driven insights.
Services
We offer a full range of automation services, from scalable semi-automated systems to fully integrated production solutions.
Semi-Automated Solutions
Scalable modular systems designed for new product launches, helping you streamline production ramp-up and maintain flexibility as demand grows.
Full Automation Systems
Complete turnkey automation for mass-market production, delivering consistent quality, efficiency, and precision at scale.
Medical Devices for Diabetes Management
Whether it’s patches, sensors, applicators, or other device types, we design and build custom equipment for assembly, testing, inspection, and packaging of glucose-monitoring medical devices.
Reagent Dispensing for DNA Sequencing
Through our custom robotic reagent dispensing machines, we provide small-volume, high-accuracy systems capable of precisely dispensing multiple reagents with varying volumes.
Catheter Manufacturing
Our automated catheter systems handle bonding, tipping, flaring, punching, printing, cannula feeding, overmolding, and packaging. We’ve also developed a patented Automatic Cannula Feeding System to feed and orient medical cannulas with exceptional accuracy.
Our Life Science Experience Includes
Intravenous Therapy
- Manufacturing components and assembly of intravenous catheters
- Filters and adapters for IV sets
- Inspection of IV bags
- Assembly of needle-based products
Diagnostics (Point of Care)
We understand that products and machines in the diagnostic market are specifically tailored to each individual manufacturer. We’re committed to fully understanding what you’re looking to deliver and developing a proprietary system to address that. Our experience includes:
- High-throughput machines for sample handling at a central lab
- Cartridge assembly and processing for Point-of-Care diagnostics
- Assembly and inspection of implantable sensors

A Trusted Life Sciences Partner
With more than 13 years of experience, the Samuel Automation team brings a deep understanding of life science requirements, as well as an expertise in complex manufacturing, operations, and cutting-edge custom automation. Our team of world-class engineers is here to help you solve your unique problem. Our one-off solutions use the best technology and will allow you to bring your new system or product to market in record time.
However, we also recognize the importance of mitigating risk, and we won’t cut corners to save time or reduce our operational costs. We are the partner you can trust to reliably deliver on your expectations, diligently protect your trade secrets and help you consistently deliver products of the highest quality, in the smallest space possible.
Quality Assurance
Working in the Healthcare industry teaches you the importance of reliability. When the needle you’re making or the device you’re creating may be responsible for saving a life, traceability, predictability, repeatability and validation are invaluable and that’s exactly what automation delivers.
Designing with Validation in Mind
Our years of experience have helped us create a robust inspection process.
1. First, we clearly identify the requirements
2. Next, we assess the appropriate technology
3. Then we define system capabilities
This approach ensures reliable and reproducible results and paves the way for the validation process. Our focus on consistency allows us to execute projects knowing qualification processes will be satisfied on time and on budget. We can also customize our level of engagement in the Validation Documentation process to meet your exact needs.
Onsite Cleanroom
Our in-house cleanroom environment is the perfect place to create products that need maximum protection. This sterile space, which allows us to control a variety of elements – including static, temperature and sound – is essential for proof of principle testing and full-scale automation acceptance testing in an environment that simulates those of highly regulated industries, for things like medical device assembly and contaminant inspection.
We offer equipment that facilitates cleaning to maintain a low bioburden level on our machines, and the unique knowledge needed to design and manufacture automation technology in a cleanroom environment, providing you with an unmatched level of confidence that no rejects have been mixed with your approved products. When required, we can also monitor for batch integrity on the finished product as well as incoming materials.
Superior Customer Relationship
We are committed to working with you to fully understand your specific needs and we want you to have complete confidence in us and our capabilities.
Whether it’s verifying speeds and controls, running prototyping tests or evaluating different technologies, we will spend the time needed to fully verify every element of your automation system. We recognize that the more due diligence we do along the way – from the proposal to testing the machine on the floor – the more confidence we can have in knowing we’re delivering exactly what you’re looking for.
High-Volume Production
We know some medical customers need to produce hundreds of millions of products, while cleanroom space at the installation site is typically limited and valuable. Our systems are specifically designed to use that space efficiently, while still allowing you to achieve the speed you need.
